AMD House Testing & Reviewing Lab is bringing you for the first time in Pakistan, testing & reviews for not only the mainstream brands but the off-brand PC components whose credibility is not verified anywhere. We follow a transparent process for the testing & reviewing of products and our testing procedure is crystal clear, results unbiased and unskewed verdicts. Stay recent with our reviews of PC Power Supplies and Motherboards as we bring to you not only cheaper & economical deals but also ensuring that nothing is held back in terms of performance & quality of components we use in our PC builds.
PSU Review Strategy & Testing Policy
Electrical Characteristics
Complying with ATX Standard, we perform and verify a number of tests in our in-house labs following through critical & calibrated tests as well as verification of safety features which include protections such as OCP, OPP, OVP, UVP as well as verifications of quality parameters such as 80+ efficiency, peak-to-peak ripple, max power delivery and crossload characteristics. We also bring inspection of the quality of components used in PSU design such as primary side and secondary side components choice as well as quality, primary & secondary side regulation & filtering as well as quality of wiring & inspection of PCB.
Electrical Quality Parameters
Complying with ATX PSU Standards v2.2 and v3.0, we follow the same baseline quality paramters but we narrow down the acceptable range even further to ensure quality grading of PSU based on how close to ideal the output as well as input quality paramters are.
Output Voltage Regulation Limits
Complying with ATX v2.2 as well as v3.0 standards, the following table shows the acceptable tolerances in DC output voltage regulation:
Output | Range | Minimum | Nominal | Maximum |
12V DC (Volts) | ±5% | +11.40 | +12.00 | +12.60 |
5V DC (Volts) | ±5% | +4.75 | +5.00 | +5.25 |
3.3V DC (Volts) | ±5% | +3.14 | +3.30 | +3.47 |
5Vsb DC (Volts) | ±10% | +4.75 | +5.00 | +5.25 |
-12V DC (Volts) | ±5% | -10.8 | -12.00 | -13.20 |
Output Voltage Noise/Ripple Limits
Considering the Peak-to-Peak ripple noise present in every output rail, the instrumentation is done at 20MHz bandwidth as well as the noise is considered between the range of 10Hz – 20MHz. Outputs are to be bypassed at the connector with 0.1uF ceramic disk capacitor and 10uF electrolytic capacitors in-parallel between the Vout and Ground.
Output | Max Ripple & Noise (mV) Peak-to-Peak |
12V DC | 120 |
5V DC | 50 |
3.3V DC | 50 |
-12V DC | 120 |
5VSB | 50 |
Features & Physical Inspection
Wiring quality, provision of expandable power such as PCI-E power expansion, fan thermal control, switching mode, versatility of input, PCI-E 3.0 compatibility etc
Thermals
Temperatures inside the PSU case, cooling performance, components temperatures & hotspots, temperatures at plug-in spots, primary-side & secondary side temperatures at wiring terminals
Reviewing Verdict & Conclusion
Recommendation in the light of the testing & verification performed, our conclusions will align and carry narrower tolerance than the ATX standard limits to ensure a higher quality standard of our review process while keeping full transparency of our testing methods.
Asslam o Alaikom I bought Lexar oc DDR5 ram’s 16×2 =32gb from AMD House in best price excellent performance & service very humble man Thank you. Best rates in the market. Recommended for people 5 Stars from me.
