Thermalright TR-TB750S 80+ Bronze ATX 3.0 PSU Review – Keeping upto the name

Thermalright TR-TB750S is the 750W ATX 3.0 certified PSU complying with the modern standard and with the support of PCI-E 5.0 GPUs. In this review we aim to test the power supply on qualifying the basic paramters of ATX standard as well as verifying whether it complies with the 80+ Bronze specifications.

Introduction

With Thermalright as the company, we believe this brand deserves no introduction as we have already provided our readers with a brief overview in our previously published TR-TB650S review. Moreover, we have already extensively covered the ATX 3.0 standard and its relation with PCI-E 5.0 compliance in our published article here.

Load Testing Observations & Conculsion

As usual, we start the manual loading procedure with directly loading the PSU at 50% load. This practice lets us verify the maximum efficiency of the power supply. We found out that the TR-TB750S is exhibiting close to 80+ Silver level with amazing ripple response. With very low ripple across the rails, the power supply holds well in regulation department and provided us with near perfect voltages. The temperatures were far better theoretically signifying that the life of this PSU in normal use scenario shall exceed 30,000 hrs of operation at normal PC builds equipped around 400-500W of loads. The ATX 3.0 PCI-E 5.0 certification further solidifies the presence of this PSU and a budget friendly price compared to the competition against hte market. A brief overview of our testing results is tabulated below:

Load Regulation 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5Vsb Ripple 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5Vsb Efficiency Temperature Max Inside
50% 11.98V, 5.06V, 3.33V, 5.05 16mV, 13mV, 16mV, 11mV 90% not measured
100% 11.93V, 5.03V, 3.30V, 5.01V 24mV, 14mV, 17mV, 12mV 87.8% 54°C
