Technical Features & Reliability
| Feature | Details |
| Component Quality | Higher-tier models (NGDP, Steampunk) frequently utilize Japanese main capacitors (rated for 105ยฐC) for increased longevity. |
| Cooling | Units are typically equipped with 120mm or 140mm Hydraulic Bearing (HYB) fans designed for a balance between airflow and low noise levels. |
| Safety Protections | Most models include standard industrial protections: OVP (Over Voltage), UVP (Under Voltage), OCP (Over Current), OPP (Over Power), and SCP (Short Circuit). |
| Warranty | Warranty periods vary significantly by tier, ranging from 3 to 5 years for budget series to 10 years for flagship modular Gold units. |
1st Player serves as both an independent brand and a manufacturer, often providing a price-to-performance alternative in the global PC market. Their products are independently tested by organizations like Cybenetics and 80 PLUS to verify efficiency and noise level claims.
ACK-650 Bronze PSU
1st Impression
ACK-650 comes with non-modular design and with embossed individual cables instead of the bulked ribbon or sleeved cables, gives a nice aesthetic to it and opens up new doors of freedom with cable manageability. The PSU comes with DC-DC conversion as well as the protections such as OCP, OVP, OTP, UVP, OPP, SCP.
ATX 3.1 Compliance
Refereing to our review of ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 standard, ACK-650 complies with more recent ATX 3.1 standard compared to Thermalright TR-TB650S which is ATX 3.0 compliant. This means this PSU is more suited to be used with PC builds having AMD RX 9000 series or Nvidia GeForce blackwell series, providing superior endurance and stability against PCI-E Gen5 spike loads.

Load testing & observations
Starting with 50% load application, we see very low ripple response, perfectly within ATX standard limitations. The efficiency turns out to be 80+ Bronze compliant at 89%. Regulation held strong troughout the whole range of our testing and didnt fall anywhere below or near-below of the minimum. At 110% load, PSU stayed at respectable 58ยฐC maximum temperature inside which is near half of the rated maximum limit of capacitors. We can safely say that this PSU will last for anywhere between 7-15 years provided a normal use of 8 hours a day under normal gaming loads. The key note here is that the 58ยฐC is observed at 110% load while the real world PC usage load is nearly half of this reference.
| Load | Regulation 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5Vsb | Ripple 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5Vsb | Efficiency | Temperature Max Inside |
| 50% | 12.08V, 4.97V, 3.29V, 4.96 | 21mV, 8.5mV, 8.5mV, 9.2mV | 89% | not measured |
| 100% | 12.07V, 4.92V, 3.25V, 4.91V | 41.2mV, 8.6mV, 9.0mV, 10.18mV | 87.5% | not measured |
| 110% | 12.02V, 4.92V, 3.24V, 4.91V | 46.3mV, 11mV, 9.8mV, 11mV | 92.1% | 58ยฐC |
Checking for maximum power output point
Since this PSU is ATX 3.x certified it doesn’t implement the blocking design where PSU shuts down at loads greater than 110% and hence it continues supplying power. The PSU maintained a nominal output without disturbing its regulation and ripple characteristics till 827W of overpowered Load.
Conclusion
Considering our comparison with market competition, we have more expensive offerings by Corsair as well as XPG namely CX650 and PYLON 650W. This PSU is available in the market at price point of 12.5K PKR while CX650 is being sold at 17K PKR PYLON 650 being retailed at 15K PKR. The later mentioned PSUs are only ATX 2.3 standard compliant and do not confirm the ATX 3.x standard. the ACK-650 Bronze is at a perfect point where it is affordable as well as competitive offer to support even more recent Graphics Card offerings by AMD & Nvidia.
Build Recommendations
ACK-650 Bronze is perfectly viable for mid to upper-mid tier Gaming PC builds featuring GPUs upto RTX 5070Ti and RX 9070 GRE. An ideal system which has power consumption of 350W would be an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Ryzen 7 9800X3D paired with AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE GPU. While the entry level PCI-E Gen5 GPUs such as RX 9060 and RTX 5060 will pose absolutely no threat to this PSU.
